Linux Systems Administrator

Summary

AdMission Corporation, located in San Ramon, CA is a next-generation rich media advertising solutions provider with customers including AutoTrader.com, Cars.com, Autobytel and major local media publications throughout the US. AdMission's ads combine branding and direct response with a database-driven dynamic inventory component.

The company has an immediate opening for a Linux Systems Administrator to join the technical operations team. The right candidate will have extensive experience with hardware and software capacity requirements and use these skills to help design and implement large-scale architecture deployments. Applicant should have an understanding of the underlying OS and variables that affect system performance, with the ability to determine and resolve performance and system issues.

Candidate should also be a self-starter with ability to manage and prioritize many tasks at any given time. Above-average communication skills, attention to detail, solid organizational skills and an ability to provide technical leadership in the organization is also a must. Applicant should be comfortable working in a fast-paced technical environment.

Responsiblities:

• Participate in design and rollout of new products (system architecture design, security and scalability review)
• Maintenance and support of existing Linux systems
• Implementation of best practices (security and otherwise)
• Maintenance of Linux based systems (General system admin)
• Writing and maintaining Perl or shell scripts for day-to-day operations
• Troubleshooting performance issues (kernel, NFS, ISCSI, Network)
• Software deployment and rollout plans
• Lead deployment of platform software (Apache, PostgreSQL, PHP, etc.) based on security, scalability, and feature releases
• Minimal IT support, major focus on Production systems

Requirements:

• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
• 6+ years advanced UNIX administration experience (Linux Required)
• Ability to write and debug Perl or PHP required (Scripting)
• 4+ years network and security experience (BGP/OSPF, Access-lists, packet layer analysis)
• Current working knowledge of Network Appliance (Ontap)
• Administration of PostgreSQL a plus (upgrades, basic SQL)
• Experience with F5 BigIP's and/or Cisco IOS a plus
• CVS, MySQL experience a plus
