Software Engineer

Reports to: Software Engineer Manager

Summary

AdMission provides a web-based hosted media platform enabling advertisers to create rich, visual ads showcasing their businesses, products and services and to serve those ads to end consumers. This platform is sold to publishers in newspapers, yellow pages, and local advertising markets as a highly reliable and flexible application service provider (ASP) solution.

As a Software Engineer, you will help build the next generation of AdMission web applications. We need someone with solid Flash/ActionScript software development experience to create cutting-edge, rich Internet applications based on Flash technology. Expertise in the areas of OOP, PHP/Perl, Apache, and JavaScript are desirable. Above all, the candidate must be adaptable (you should be as comfortable working on the front-end user interface code as you are working on the backend server processing) and have a strong aptitude for quickly learning new technologies.

Responsiblities

• Participate in a small engineering team through full design, development and deployment cycle
• Help design, develop and document key components of new and enhanced products
• Participate in design brainstorming sessions, design reviews and bug triage meetings
• Develop, unit test and debug key components of new and enhanced products
• Work with Quality Assurance to debug and fix code based on bug reports and triage meetings
• Keep all code and documentation updated in a revision control system

Qualifications

Education:

• B.S. Computer Science

Experience

• 4+ years of commercial software development experience in scalable web-based systems
• Previous experience working in small development teams
• Must have proven experience in Object Oriented Design and Development
• Solid experience developing with Flash MX, ActionScript, and Flash/XML communications

  Expertise in the following areas is highly desirable

  • Perl/PHP and Apache
  • JavaScript, DHTML, and CSS
  • Linux and/or UNIX
  • SQL, PostgreSQL
  • XML, SOAP, XSLT
  • C++, COM, ActiveX, ATL
