Working with Us
Cobalt requires very little effort and minimal decisions from an advertiser or partner to execute a successful campaign. Partners will find that, unlike other rich media providers, AdMission ads do not require multiple meetings, phone calls and creative assets. Much of the process may be completed via ad creator in a few simple steps, or via telephone with an AdMission account representative.
now to get started.
Building AdMission Ads
AdMission ads are created from a set of templated designs that are included in the ad creator tool available online. Partners, advertisers or their agency representatives may use ad creator to build the branding elements of an ad and generate sample or spec versions with a printable preview. Distribution options for each ad campaign may also be chosen. The AdMission platform then marries the selected template and branding elements with live inventory data "on the fly" to create the final ad.
Cobalt's use of live inventory as dynamic, targeted content in an ad requires a data feed of the advertiser's product or listing inventory. Cobalt has partnered with several large data providers in the automotive industry, so many auto dealers will find that ad creator already has their live inventory included and ready for distribution. All other advertisers will need to notify Cobalt and their data provider so that arrangements for a feed can be made. Data providers may follow the instructions below to prepare for sending a feed to Cobalt. For questions on this procedure, or call (925) 328-1200 to speak with a representative.
Providing Inventory Data Feeds
If you need to provide an advertiser data feed to Cobalt, please review the steps below in preparation. Contact our ad operations team with questions, or when you’re ready to test the file transfer.
Step 1: Choose Feed Format
- XML: Include as many elements as possible in a well-formed XML feed. For a list of AdMission required elements, contact ad operations.
- Delimited Text: File should have one ad per line with column names on the first line. The delimiter can be a comma, tab, pipe, or other special symbol and should not exist within the data.
Step 2: Choose Delivery Method
- Deliver via FTP
Place the feed file on your FTP server for AdMission to fetch and process. Provide AdMission with access to the feed file by providing the server name, file location, file name, and user name and password to the FTP account.- Deliver via HTTP POST
Create an automated process to post a feed file from your server to the AdMission servers using HTTP POST.Step 3: Report Your Readiness
- Contact ad operations to report your preparation. AdMission will provide necessary environment URLs for testing purposes. Following testing, you are ready to deliver live data.
