Belo Interactive Selects IPIX AdMisson Platform
The Nations 12th Largest Newspaper,The Dallas Morning News, is First Belo Operating Company to Implement AdMission for Enhanced Classifieds
NEXPO NAA NEWSPAPER TECHNOLOGY EXHIBITION & CONFERENCE, June 21, 2004 – (NEXPO 2004 Booth #2625) - IPIX AdMission, a provider of directional advertising solutions, today announced that Belo Interactive, the Internet subsidiary of Belo Corp., will implement AdMission™ from IPIX into it's online classified services. Belo Interactive will launch AdMission on DallasNews.com, the website affiliated with The Dallas Morning News, and make the AdMission platform available to other newspaper or television-affiliated websites in an effort to offer photo-enhanced advertising capabilities to its advertisers, and enriched visual content to its customers.
AdMission is a hosted solution that enables classified advertisers to include photos of their items in both online and print ads. By integrating AdMission into Dallasnews.com, Belo Interactive's advertisers now have the option to upgrade their standard text-only classified advertisements with the addition of photos and logos. This offers advertisers the ability to display photo-enhanced ads that are more effective in communicating the product's value to potential buyers.
"There is tremendous value in providing advertisers the option of upgrading their classified ads to feature enhanced photos online," said Wes Jackson, vice president/Sales, Belo Interactive. "AdMission provides Belo's print and web properties the opportunity to demonstrate the unique value of the Internet, and ultimately improve upon our clients' advertising effectiveness."
"A real opportunity exists for The Dallas Morning News to enhance its position as the marketplace leader in Dallas," said Tom Caywood, vice president/Classified Advertising for The Dallas Morning News. "Combining the paper's extensive reach along with interactive photos of merchandise displayed online, we are positioned for continued growth as we provide superior services for advertisers and our classified customers."
"Consumers and advertisers alike are demanding a richer media experience online than is currently available from text only ads. Belo Interactive has a history of offering innovative solutions that benefit both advertisers and consumers," said Sarah Pate, general manager of IPIX AdMission.
